Tata Motors has increased the prices of its Tigor EV electric sedan with its entry-level variant starting at Rs 12.24 lakhs (ex-showroom), which makes it costlier by Rs 25,000. The prices of the Tata Tigor EV have been increased across the board with all its three variants – entry-level XE, mid-level XM, and top XZ+ – becoming more expensive. This move comes soon after the Tata Nexon EV price bump last week. The Tata Tigor EV was updated last year with the ZipTron powertrain from the larger Tata Nexon EV and boasts a 74 bhp and 170 Nm that is good for a 306km range when paired to its fully charged 24kWh battery pack.

Tata Tigor EV specifications, features 

The Tata Tigor EV is an electrified model based on the sub-4m compact sedan, Tata Tigor, from the Indian automaker. The Tata Tigor EV comes with an electric motor that produces 74bhp and 170Nm of peak power and torque respectively and is paired to a 26kWh Li-ion battery pack. This powertrain is capable of delivering a range of 306km. The battery takes 8.5 hours to charge from 0 to 80 percent from a home wall socket charger while a fast charger can juice up the battery pack in about 65 minutes. The battery pack is weatherproof and IP67 certified. The Tata Tigor EV also boasts of a healthy 8 year or 1.6 lakh kilometre warranty on the motor and the battery pack. 

In terms of features, the Tata Tigor EV is quite similar to its ICE counterpart and fetches a buyer with necessary luxuries such as – a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a Harman audio system with four speakers and four tweeters, auto climate control, a cooled glovebox, a rear-view camera, a digital instrument console, auto-folding ORVMs, and projector headlamps. The 4-star Global NCAP safety rating and a strong 0-60kmph time of 5.7 seconds are some interesting highlights that make the Tata Tigor EV a lucrative buy.
