This week in tech saw one of the biggest phone launches of 2024, the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung also debuted ‘Galaxy AI’ that brings a host of new AI features for its flagships. We’re only getting started with smartphone launches and one that’s coming soon is the iQOO Neo 9 Pro in India.

Realme is also debuting a new ‘Note’ series on January 23rd but its price and specs have already been revealed. A new report also revealed Apple’s plans of launching the Vision Pro headset in markets outside of the US before WWDC 2024.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series launched

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series went official earlier this week at a very fancy event in San Francisco. The lineup features the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra. It’s now available to pre-book in India at a starting price of Rs 79,999. You get up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage with the Galaxy S24 series. The latest Samsung flagships offer 120Hz AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass Armor (a first), Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 chipsets, and 200MP camera as well.

Apple Vision Pro global release

The Apple Vision Pro headset will launch in international markets before WWDC in June, according to Ming-Chi Kuo. The reason behind this is said to be due to a limited supply of Vision Pro, a smoother sales process in the US, and the time to adapt the algorithms to comply with regulations in other countries. Apple is also expected to share more development details about the Vision Pro ahead of WWDC 2024.

The Vision Pro is going on sale first in the US on February 2nd.

iQOO Neo 9 Pro India launch date revealed

The iQOO Neo 9 Pro is scheduled to launch in India on February 22nd. The brand has been teasing its upcoming phone ahead of the launch. It’s already debuted in China but the iQOO Neo 9 Pro in India will come with a different chipset. iQOO Neo 9 Pro is also confirmed to come in Conqueror Black and Leather Red colours, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Realme Note 50 price and specs revealed

Realme Note 50 is debuting on January 23rd as the brand’s first phone from the new Note series. Ahead of the launch, the smartphone was listed on the Realme Philippines website for PHP 3,599 (approx Rs 5,400) for the 4GB + 64GB model. It will come in Sky Blue, and Midnight Black colours. Realme Note 50 has a 6.74-inch IPS HD+ display, UNISOC T612 SoC, and runs Android 13-based realme UI T Edition. It also sports a 13MP primary camera and a B&W depth sensor.

Google and Samsung bring ‘Circle to Search’: what is it

Samsung and Google collaborated on a feature called “Circle to Search” that lets Android users search for content on their devices seamlessly without the need to switch between apps. Users can initiate searches by circling, highlighting, scribbling, or tapping on images, text, or videos. Search results will appear in a pop-up from the bottom of the screen. Circle to Search feature will be available on the Pixel 8 series and the Galaxy S24 series on January 31st.

Galaxy AI coming to older phones

Circle to Search is one of the many Galaxy AI features announced at the Galaxy S24 event. These features will be available for the Galaxy S24 series but some of them are coming to older phones including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series. It’s not confirmed which features exactly, and when it will be available.
