In a new development, it appears that Apple plans to release the Vision Pro AR headset to non-U.S. markets ahead of the 2024 WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference). The WWDC is hosted in June every year, implying that the Vision Pro could be available in international markets sometime around May. The official Vision Pro will be available for purchase starting February 2, 2024, in the USA.

Apple will unveil more details about the Vision Pro

  • According to a report by Ming-Chi Kuo on Medium, Apple plans to share more development details about the Vision Pro ahead of WWDC.
  • In order to accomplish this, Apple plans to launch the Vision Pro in non-US markets ahead of the WWDC to promote the global development ecosystem of the VisionOS. 
  • The reasons for this include a limited supply of Vision Pro, a smoother sales process in the US, and the time to adapt the algorithms to comply with regulations in other countries.

Apple’s entertainment experiences launching with Vision Pro

  • Apple has introduced a variety of entertainment experiences that Vision Pro users can enjoy with the official launch of the device on February 2nd, 2024.
  • Apple Vision Pro users will be able to watch Apple TV+ originals and content from popular streaming apps and channels with the help of the Apple TV app and VisionOS.
  • The TV app also comes with a Cinema Environment feature, which can transform the space into a personal theatre, and options to customise your seating preferences, like front, middle, or back row.
  • Vision Pro users will have access to over 150 3D movies from the world’s top studios, such as Avatar: The Way of Water, Dune, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and more.
  • Vision Pro also includes Apple Immersive Video, featuring 180-degree 3D 8K recordings captured with spatial audio support, enabling an immersive audio experience. 
  • Apple has also developed a new app, Encounter Dinosaurs, allowing users to peer into the Cretaceous period, over 66 million years old, when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
