vivo has launched a new budget smartphone in the Indian market dubbed the Y53, reports Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom. Retailing at Rs 9,990, the device will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (review) in the affordable segment space.
The vivo Y53 sports a 5-inch qHD display giving the smartphone a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz which works in tandem with 2GB of RAM. For storage, the Y53 ships with 16GB of onboard memory which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. In the camera department, the handset comes furnished with a pair of 8MP and 5MP sensors on the back and the front respectively. The device also comes with some unique features like a built-in eye protection mode and smart split. It runs Android Marshmallow with vivo’s Funtouch 3.0 OS on top, and draws its power from a 2,500mAh battery.
The vivo Y53 will be available in major brick and mortar stores across the country in a few days.
