WhatsApp's latest update for iPhone users also brings a redesigned sticker tray and the ability to silence unknown callers.
The latest WhatsApp update on iOS is version number 23.14.79, and it's currently available on the App Store (via WABetaInfo). You can download it to start using the new features. Let's take at each of these features:
Starting with the chat transfer option, this feature will let you seamlessly transfer your native account history to a new iPhone without an iCloud backup. So even if you haven't backed up your chats, you can still transfer all your data to a new device. You can do this by going to Settings > Chats > Transfer Chats to iPhone.
This feature is something that will definitely be helpful to many. As the name suggests, this feature will let you silence unknown callers on WhatsApp. You can find this through Settings > Privacy > Calls > Silence unknown callers. Now, any WhatsApp call from unknown numbers will be silenced automatically. It will still be visible in the notifications tab though.
The video call screen also gets a landscape mode, which as the name suggests will give you a different orientation other than portrait. Now when you make video calls on WhatsApp you can switch to landscape mode by simply flipping your phone. Even when in landscape mode, your video screen will remain the same, it's just that you'll get a wider view of the call. This can be helpful when you're in a group video call with several participants.
The redesigned sticker tray makes it easier to switch between GIFs and stickers on WhatsApp. GIFs and stickers are placed at the centre while the search button is on the left, and the '+' button is on the right for more stickers.
