Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Special Edition with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage launched in China

Xiaomi was expected to introduce the Mi 6 Plus smartphone in China today, but instead, the company introduced the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Special Edition. The new variant comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The earlier Mi Note 2 model was released in two RAM and storage configurations – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB.

Apart from 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, the rest of the specs of the Mi Note 2 Special Edition are the same as the earlier model. The phone offers a 5.7-inch QHD curved OLED Sunlight Display Pro screen, and is powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor that’s clocked at 2.35GHz. The device boots MIUI 8, which is based on Android.

The Mi Note 2 Special Edition features a 22.5MP rear camera with EIS and 4K recording, and an 8MP front shooter. The phone gets NFC, 4G LTE+, a USB Type-C port, GPS with SAP and a 4,070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. The new variant has been priced at CNY 2,899 (~Rs 27,500). There’s no word regarding its global availability at the moment.
