In Time Review

In Time is a gripping and thought-provoking science fiction thriller set in a dystopian future where time is the ultimate currency. The wealthy can live indefinitely, while the poor are forced to fight for every second of their lives. The protagonist of the film, played by Justin Timberlake, is a young man named Will who rebels against an unjust system. He is transformed into a symbol of resistance, defying the status quo and risking everything for justice and love. The plot moves quickly and contains thrilling action sequences that keep you on the edge of your seat. The idea of time as currency is an intriguing one that raises questions about the value of life and the consequences of inequality. The film also addresses social and economic issues such as wealth disparity and power's corrupting influence. It encourages viewers to consider the real-world implications of such a system as well as the moral implications of immortality.

TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Many of the character names are those of famous, and not so famous, watchmakers. The name Weis is pronounced the same as the watchmaker Albert Wajs.

The film takes place in 2169.

Director trademark: Using vintage automobiles in a futuristic setting.

In a movie about people who would stop aging at 25 years old, many of the actors, including Cillian Murphy and Justin Timberlake, were in their late 20s and early 30s. Amanda Seyfried, however, really was 25 years old during filming.

Amanda Seyfried claimed that the most difficult thing about shooting the film was that she often had to full-on run while wearing high-heeled shoes. She would have removed her shoes for those scenes, but it would have been impossible for her to be barefoot on the concrete roads that she had to run across.

Popular Dialogues

"Henry Hamilton: How old are you? In real time? Will Salas: 28. Henry Hamilton: I'm 105. Will Salas: Good for you. You won't see 106, you have too many more nights like tonight. Henry Hamilton: You are right. But the day comes when you've had enough. Your mind can be spent, even if your body's not. We want to die. We need to. Will Salas: That's your problem? You've been alive too long? You ever known anyone who's died? Henry Hamilton: For a few to be immortal, many must die. Will Salas: What the hell is that supposed to mean? Henry Hamilton: You really don't know, do you? Everyone can't live forever. Where would we put them? Why do you think there are time zones? Why do you think taxes and prices go up the same day in the ghetto? The cost of living keeps rising to make sure people keep dying. How else could there be men with a million years while most live day to day? But the truth is... there's more than enough. No one has to die before their time. If you had as much time as I have on that clock, what would you do with it? Will Salas: I'd stop watching it. I can tell you one thing. If I had all that time, I sure as hell wouldn't waste it."

"Philippe Weis: You'd steal from your own father. Sylvia Weis: Is it stealing if it's already stolen?"
