Airtel opens pre-registrations for Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+

Samsung launched its much-anticipated flagship duo – the Galaxy S9 and S9+ (first impressions) at its Unpacked event held earlier this week at MWC. The handset maker has already started taking pre-orders for the flagships in India, where consumers will have to pay Rs 2,000. Earlier today, Samsung sent out media invites for the launch of the Galaxy S9 duo on March 6th. Now, Airtel has gone ahead and announced that the flagships will be available at its online store as well.

The telecom operator has started taking pre-registrations for the Samsung Galaxy S9 duo on its online store until March 4th. Users will need to register using their Airtel number and verify through an OTP. Post this, Airtel will send them an exclusive invite to book the smartphone on the launch date – March 6th. Registered users will then be able to place their orders on the launch date and Airtel will deliver it to their doorstep. The telco is also expected to offer launch day cashback offers with these handsets, however, the details of the same are not available at the moment.

Coming to the pricing, Airtel has not yet revealed any information, however, we do know the MRP now. A leaked official document obtained by 91mobiles yesterday revealed that the MRP of the Galaxy S9 64GB will be Rs 62,500, while its 256GB variant will set you back by Rs 71,000. The Galaxy S9+’s 64GB option will retail for Rs 70,000, while the 256GB model will go on sale for Rs 79,000. However, do bear in mind that the actual selling price is usually lower than the MRP.

Samsung is offering the flagships in four hues – Midnight Black, Titanium Grey, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple. However, it is uncertain whether the new addition – Lilac Purple will find its way to India.
