Apple has announced the release date of the long-awaited Vision Pro VR headset through a press release. We learn about its price, how to get the prescription lens, its pricing, the in-box contents, and where to buy all of these from. Apple Vision Pro release date and price

  • Apple Vision Pro will be available in the US starting February 2nd through Apple stores (both online and all offline outlets). You can pre-order it from January 19th at 5 AM PT or 6:30 PM IST.
  • The Vision Pro pricing starts at $3,499 (around Rs 2,90,679.43) for the 256GB model.
  • Apple says the Vision Pro will launch in other countries sometime later this year.

Apple Vision Pro prescription lens, packaging and other details

  • You can grab the ZEISS Optical Inserts — Readers at $99 (around Rs 8,224) and the ZEISS Optical Inserts — Prescription at $149 (about Rs 12,378.18). 
  • As for fit, you can choose between a Solo Knit Band and a Dual Loop Band. These ensure the Vision Pro stays optimally close to your eyes and ears.
  • The other box contents include a Light Seal, two different Light Seal Cushions, a cover for the front of the device, a battery, a USB-C charge cable, a USB-C power adapter, and a polishing cloth.
  • Vision Pro consists of 2 micro-OLED displays sharing 23 million pixels. The display comes with laminated glass, and 12 cameras all packed in an aluminium body with the aforementioned lenses, light seal cushions, cover, and straps. There is a button on the headset to capture spatial photos and videos and a Digital Crown to control the immersion of the screen. The underlying software is VisionOS and the processing is handled by a combination of M2 and R1 chips. You interact with the VisionOS using finger gestures, eye movements, and speech.
