The ASUS ZenFone 8 series launch event will begin at 07:00 PM CEST (10:30 PM IST). The launch event will be streamed live on on the brand's official YouTube channel. It is worth mentioning that while the global launch of the ZenFone 8 series is taking place as scheduled, ASUS has delayed the India launch of the ZenFone 8 series due to the COVID-19 situation in the country.
The ASUS ZenFone 8 series prices will be announced during the launch event of the smartphone lineup. However, we have exclusively got our hands on the ZenFone 8 price. According to our source, the ZenFone 8 will start at EUR 700 (approximately Rs 62,500) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The 8GB+256GB configuration of the ZenFone 8 will be priced at EUR 750 (approximately Rs 67,000), and the 16GB+256GB model's price will be EUR 800 (approximately Rs 71,500).
However, the prices of the ZenFone 8 Flip are still under wraps.
So far, ASUS has teased that the ZenFone 8 series smartphones will have a display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole mounted to the top-left corner of the screen (except for the ZenFone 8 Flip). The brand has also revealed that the ZenFone 8 series devices will have IP68 water and dust resistant rating, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
According to a popular tipster, Mukul Sharma, the most compact smartphone in the ZenFone 8 series, the ZenFone 8, will have a 5.9-inch AMOLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
The leak claims that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor and it will be available with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is said to ship with Android 11 and ZenUI 8. According to the tipster, the ZenFone 8 will pack a 4,000mAh battery with 30W charging.
In terms of camera, it is said to feature a 64MP IMX686 sensor at the rear along with a 12MP ultrawide camera and a macro sensor. The selfie camera is said to be a 12MP unit. According to Mukul, there will be 4K/120fps and 8K video recording options onboard.
The tipster says that the smartphone will have two speakers, three microphones, OZO audio, Hi-Fi audio playback via the headphone jack, a linear vibration motor, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, and a USB Type-C port.
According to a popular tipster, Ishan Agarwal, the ZenFone 8 Flip will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. He claims that the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and will be available with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. You can expect the smartphone to shop with the Android 11 OS
The ZenFone 8 Flip, as the name suggests, is said to feature a flip camera mechanism with a 64MP primary camera, 8MP telephoto lens, and 12MP ultrawide sensor. Since the camera module can flip forward, you can use the three cameras for taking selfies as well. According to Ishan, the ZenFone 8 Flip will have a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging.
While there is no concrete information regarding the specifications of the ZenFone 8, it is only a day to go for the launch where we will get to know everything about the phone.
