It’s Valentine’s Day, and Instagram wants you to express your love on the social media app. It’s making sure you do so by introducing some hidden features specially curated for V-Day. These features are available starting today, and you can use them until February 15th.
Instagram Valentine’s Day features
Instagram’s Valentine’s Day features adds cute little hearts all over your DMs and Stories. There are two exclusive Valentine’s Day features on Instagram that you can start using now.
- You can post a Note with Valentine’s Day-related keywords or emojis, and it will trigger an “exploding heart/emoji” animation in your DM inbox. The keywords include Happy valentine’s day, Happy vday, and Vday. As for the emojis, you can use these 💘, 😍, ❤️, 💕, 💖, 🌹, ❣️.
- Tapping on any Valentine’s Day-related note will also trigger the hearts and emojis all over your inbox.
- The @mention sticker in Stories has also been changed with the colour now in pink and two hearts one each side. Once you put up a photo or video, go to the Sticker tray and select the mention sticker.
- Posting or tapping the @mention sticker will also trigger floating hearts in your Stories.
Instagram has started rolling out these features so it might take some time before it reaches everyone. Instagram also has some hidden features that have been available for years now. These aren’t exclusively for Valentine’s Day but you can still use them to send messages.
Open any chat, and type out a message. Before hitting send, tap on the magnifying glass icon on the left. Here, you’ll find options to send your message gift wrapped or with hearts around it. You can send these animated messages along with your Valentine’s wish or anything.
