According to the Flipkart banner, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be launching in India. It was earlier speculated that the flagship phones would not be coming to India going by the fact that Google’s previous flagships never made it here as well. However, the Flipkart page has confirmed the Pixel 7 series India launch, and now we await the official sale date. The banner posted on Flipkart reads “Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro are on deck” and “coming soon.”

The Pixel 7 series will be the first Google flagship to make it to the Indian market officially after the Pixel 3 series that was launched back in 2018. Google did not release the Pixel 4, Pixel 5, and Pixel 6 smartphones in the country, but has been constantly bringing the mid-range Pixel A-series, barring the Pixel 5a or the Pixel 4a 5G.

Google has been teasing the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro phones ahead of the October 6th reveal. Most recently, a YouTube ad from Google confirmed that the Pixel 7 Pro will go on pre-orders starting October 6th itself, the same day Google plans to unveil the devices. While Google didn’t specifically mention the Pixel 7, it is likely that the vanilla model will also go on pre-orders on the same day.

Google Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro: What to expect

Google earlier this month announced that it will launch the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel Watch during its ‘Made by Google’ event on October 6th, 2022. After the announcement, Google updated its website with new details about the upcoming devices.

On the updated Magazine page for Pixel 7, Google has mentioned that the Pixel 7 series comes with a next-gen Tensor chip. This is likely the Tensor G2 processor.

More recently, a Geekbench listing has hinted at the RAM and motherboard configuration of the Pixel 7 Pro. According to the benchmark listing spotted by a tipster, the Google Pixel 7 Pro will come with 12GB of RAM and a “Cheetah” motherboard.

Just like the Pixel 6 series, the Tensor G2 chip is also expected to power Pixel 7a or a Pixel foldable, if the company launches either. On the page, Google says that the Tensor G2 will “bring even more helpful, personalized features to photos, videos, security, and speech recognition.”
