Google Camera app in Pixel 8 series
- The Google Camera app is getting a UI overhaul in the Pixel 8 series, according to a report by Android Authority.
- In the new UI, the photo and video modes are completely separated as opposed to sitting other in the present UI. There’s now a switch at the bottom that you can toggle to move between photo and video.
- Google has also switched the camera switch button’s location with the gallery preview button as part of the refresh, as per the report.
- In the new Google Camera app, you’ll also have to swipe up to pull the settings menu. There’s also a new settings button in the bottom left of the screen.
- Google has also made some small changes to make certain highlight some camera modes. One example is splitting the ‘Motion’ tab to ‘Long Exposure’ and ‘Action Pan’. Cinematic Pan is also now known as simple ‘pan’ in the new Google Camera.
The new Google Camera app changes are said to launch first with the Google Pixel 8 series. It’s expected to arrive on older Google phones later.
