Huawei Mate X 5G foldable smartphone finally hit the stores in its home country at a price tag of $2,400 and despite the premium price tag, the smartphone was sold out in less than a minute. However, the number of units that were sold has not been disclosed yet, which raises a doubt that the company might have put out an extremely limited stock up for sale. To recall, the Huawei Mate X 5G launch was delayed even though it was announced back in February and reasons for the same remain unknown. Since the smartphones in the Chinese markets don't usually come with Google Play suite, it shouldn't hold back the Mate X 5G from selling like hotcakes.
The Huawei Mate X sports an 8-inch primary display with 2,840 x 2,200 pixels resolution when unfolded and when folded, there is a 6-inch panel with 2,480 x 1,148-pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio on the front and a 6.38-inch (2,490 x 892 pixels) screen on the rear. The Huawei Mate X is powered by the 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC with Balong 5000 5G modem. A 4,500mAh battery with Huawei's 55W SuperCharge tech which is claimed to charge up to 80 percent in just 35 minutes. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
The Huawei Mate X packs 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB expandable storage. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.1.1 and in terms of optics, the Huawei Mate X has a triple rear camera setup 40MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens, an 8MP telephoto lens. Connectivity features include 5G Multi-mode, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C.
