OnePlus Watch 2 launch date (rumoured)

Tipster Max Jambor who previously claimed that the OnePlus Watch 2 will launch at MWC 2024 has now tipped the date to be February 26th

OnePlus community forums OnePlus Watch 2

Incidentally, on its community forum, OnePlus has shared the same teaser image and asked its audience to comment on what they think it is. The catch is however that only wrong answers are accepted. The final date for submission is Feb 26th at 17:00 IST, which we guess, could be the time when the OnePlus Watch 2 launches. Additionally, the forum page mentions that the contest is open for people in India, North America, and Europe, which one assumes are the markets where the OnePlus Watch 2 will be available.

OnePlus Watch 2 design and specifications (expected)

  • OnePlus Watch 2 could have a round dial with a protrusion on the right side. Based on leaked renders, there could be two buttons on that side. This protrusion gives it a unique appearance.
  • The other side appears to have a speaker grille. On the base, there are sensors for tracking various health aspects.
  • There seems to be a thick bezel around the watch face. We could get multiple analogue and digital watch faces. The display is said to be of AMOLED type stretching 1.43 inches.
  • The surrounding frame has a nice sheen in the renders. We are not sure about the materials used for the body and the strap. The strapping mechanism looks similar to that of the Apple watches.
  • The leak presented the Watch 2 in Black and light Grey colours.
  • Under the hood, there could be a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC.
  • We suppose it could bring over GPS and 5ATM+ IP68 dust and water resistance from its predecessor.
  • There are some doubts about whether the watch ships with a custom RTOS or WearOS. The former doesn’t make sense on top of a powerful chip like the Snapdragon one mentioned above. We will know this when the watch is finally unveiled. Stay tuned!
