OnePlus to replace RTOS with WearOS 4
- Tipster Max Jambor claims that the OnePlus Watch 2 will come with WearOS 4 instead of the RTOS operating system.
- The original OnePlus Watch 2021 featured great hardware, including a gorgeous display but the RTOS operating system is a no match to WearOS features.
#OnePlusWatch2 Design has been revealed in some gorgeous looking renders by @OnLeaks – I’ve seen quite a few comments asking about the OS it runs though.

Let me reveal to you: The all new OnePlus Watch2 will run WearOS 4 ✅
- OnePlus Watch 2 will better compete against the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and the Pixel Watch 2.
- The OnePlus Watch 2 was recently spotted on the BIS portal, which suggested the India launch could be inching close.
- The leak comes after the OnePlus Watch 2 renders have surfaced online.
If the OnePlus Watch 2 indeed comes with WearOS instead of RTOS, this won’t be the first time that the company is shifting its software for its products. The brand shifted from Cyanogen OS to its own OxygenOS in the past.
OnePlus Watch 2 specifications (expected)
The OnePlus Watch 2 is rumoured to sport a 1.43-inch AMOLED circular display, with narrow bezels. The smartwatch could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset. There could be a speaker grill on one side and two buttons on the other. We can expect the usual health tracking features on the OnePlus Watch 2, including heart rate sensor, SpO2, sleep and calorie tracking and much more.
