“These phones will likely be positioned across various price points and cater to a wide range of users”
OPPO plans to launch 5-6 new smartphones in India by Diwali, 91mobiles has learnt from industry sources. These new OPPO phones will be across premium, budget, and mid-range price points, catering to a wide range of users. The company “will continue its commitment by innovating and fulfilling user demands with these phones.” It recently launched the Reno 10X Zoom Edition, A9 and K3 smartphones in India, giving users a wide variety of smartphones to choose from across different price points. It should be interesting to see what OPPO has in store for users during the festive season.
Unfortunately, details regarding the smartphones and their hardware specifications are kept under wraps for now. However, since the sources suggested the smartphones will be placed across price points, we might see affordable and mid-range phones in the A and K-series. There’s also a chance that OPPO might launch a new India-exclusive series as well. We should know more information in the coming months.
The brand’s last major smartphone in India was OPPO K3, which flaunts a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 layer. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 710 SoC paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The handset boots ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie right out of the box. In terms of optics, the OPPO K3 packs a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 16MP primary sensor with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, 6P lens, PDAF and a 2MP secondary snapper. There is a 16MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. It features an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security. A 3,765mAh battery with fast-charging support fuels the phone.
