POCO F1 Lite with Snapdragon 660 SoC appears on Geekbench

While all eyes are on POCO F1's (review) successor - the 'POCO F2' - a new benchmark listing has surfaced online, suggesting there is POCO F1 Lite in the works too. The POCO F1 Lite handset has been spotted running on benchmarking website Geekbench with the Snapdragon 660 chipset ticking at its core; the Snapdragon 670 and Snapdragon 675 mobile platforms have already been announced as the successors of the Snapdragon 660. With the POCO F1's reputation (as the cheapest Snapdragon 845-powered smartphone), the F1 Lite (if launched) may disappoint some fans.

Notably, Xiaomi's recently launched Redmi Note 7 also packs Snapdragon 660 SoC, therefore there are speculations that POCO F1 Lite could be priced a little lower than that. The former has been priced at a starting price of Rs 9,999 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The handset's top-end model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs Rs 11,999.

As spotted on the Geekbench listing, the POCO F1 Lite also comes with 4GB of RAM and runs Android 9 Pie out of the box. With the configurations, the handset managed to score 1,341 points in the single-core test and 4,830 points in the multi-core test. That's all we know so far!

The company is yet to reveal if and when it's planning to launch its next device, but the prospect of a Lite model seems highly unlikely. Xiaomi wouldn't be looking to pit its two devices with almost similar specs, features, and price tag against one another. We'll be keeping a track on the update and report it if anything comes up. Of course, launching the POCO F1 Lite could be about giving consumers more choice at the budget price point.
