Redmi 8A smartphone was recently confirmed to launch in India on September 25th. We already know the Redmi 8A specification thanks to a TENAA listing. It will sport a 6.2-inch HD+ display with waterdrop notch to accommodate the selfie camera, and it would be powered by a 2GHz octa-core processor, though the chipset name is a mystery. The variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage will cost Rs 6,999, while the 4GB + 64GB option will be relatively pricier at Rs 8,999 at the moment.

The Redmi 8A is expected to flaunt a 6.21-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1,520 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is said to be powered by a 2GHz octa-core processor and will be made available in three variants: 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and, lastly, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage that is user expandable up to 512GB. In terms of software, the Redmi 8A is likely to boot Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 custom skin on top.
As for the camera, the Redmi 8A is said to pack a single 12MP sensor on the back with LED flash. On the front, there is an 8MP snapper for selfies and video chats. A 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support fuels the phone. However, it won't have a traditional fingerprint sensor, so users will have to rely on Face unlock for security. The Redmi 8A weighs 188 grams and measures 156.3 x 75.4 x 9.4mm. It is expected to be available in Black, Red, Blue, White, Green, Purple, Pink, and Grey colour options.
