Redmi K40 launch is scheduled for February 25th in China. Thanks to various leaks and rumours, we know quite a good deal about the phone already. A recent teaser image showed off the phone’s rear camera design and colour option. Another teaser poster has now confirmed the Redmi K40 will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset ahead of its launch, as spotted by tipster Mukul Sharma. This falls in line with a recent confirmation from Redmi Product Director Wang Teng Thomas, where the executive had said at least two models in the Redmi K40 series will ship with the flagship Qualcomm chipset.

Redmi K40 will have a tiny hole-punch cutout

Separately, an alleged Redmi K40 speed-test video has surfaced on Weibo, which suggests the phone will come with a tiny punch-hole cutout on the front, as teased previously by the brand’s general manager on Weibo. Unfortunately, this doesn’t reveal much else about the phone, except for revealing the front design. It has the volume rocker and power button on the right.

Redmi K40 specifications (expected)

Redmi K40 is said to come with an FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is said to pack 8GB RAM, 128GB storage and 5G connectivity. A 4,000mAh battery with fast-charging support fuels the phone. The phone is likely to boot Android 11 based on MIUI 12 custom skin on top. Connectivity features could include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port for charging and data sync. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much everything we so far know about the Redmi K40 at the moment but should learn more information next week when it’s launched. Speculations are rife only the Redmi K40 will launch at the event and the Pro variant is reserved for a later date.
