"Samsung has announced a price cut of Rs 4,000 on both Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A70 smartphones"
Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A70 smartphones are seeing a major price drop ahead of the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 launch in India next week. Retail sources have informed 91mobiles that Samsung has announced a cut of Rs 4,000 on the price tag of both the offerings for a limited period. The Samsung Galaxy A50, which was previously retailing at Rs 21,490, is now up for grabs at Rs 17,490 for the 6GB RAM variant. The Galaxy A50 4GB RAM variant price remains untouched at the moment. As for the Galaxy A70, it's will be selling at Rs 23,990 instead of Rs 27,990 for the sole 6GB + 128GB storage option. The scheme is valid from January 4th to January 31st in offline retail stores across India.
Both Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A70 prices have also been dropped online on platforms like Amazon India. On the e-commerce website, the Galaxy A50 4GB + 64GB variant is available for Rs 14,999, while the 6GB + 64GB model is available for Rs 17,990. The Galaxy A70 price has dropped down to Rs 24,990 on Amazon.
Both the Galaxy A50 and A70 will soon be succeeded by the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 in India. The two new Galaxy A 2020 series phones will launch next week. 91mobiles has also learned from retail sources that the Galaxy A51 will start at Rs 22,990, while the Galaxy A71 price will be set at Rs 29,990.

As for the Samsung Galaxy A50 specifications – the handset runs One UI with Android 9 Pie atop out of the box. It sports a 6.4-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display that bears an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone has Samsung's Exynos 9610 octa-core processor under the hood, paired with 4,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.
For photography, the A50 rocks a 25MP f/1.7 primary camera at the rear, accompanied by a 5MP f/2.2 secondary snapper and an 8MP f/2.2 third sensor. The handset is capable of recording full-HD videos at 30 frames per second. For selfies and video calling, there's a 25MP shooter. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone offers dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, and A-GPS.
Samsung Galaxy A70 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED Infinity-U display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. It's powered Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC clocked at 2GHz octa-core processor with Adreno 612 GPU and runs Android 9 Pie-based One UI out of the box. The phone employs triple rear cameras, which consists of a 32MP f/1.7 primary sensor, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide snapper, and a 5MP f/2.2 aperture depth unit. There's a 32MP shooter on the front for selfies and video calls. The handset packs a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast-charging technology. The connectivity options of the A70 are the same as the Galaxy A50.
