Vivo’s upcoming smartphone – the V9 has been popping up on the internet a lot lately. We have already seen the handset getting listed on the official website of the brand and yesterday, the Indian e-commerce website Amazon India listed the phone as well. While the smartphone is expected to launch in India tomorrow, i.e. March 23rd, the brand has now gone ahead and launched the smartphone in Thailand.
In terms of design, the Vivo V9 comes with a glass-sandwich design and curved edges on the rear panel. Moving on to the spec sheet, the fascia of the handset is home to a 6.3-inch notched display with 19:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution (2,280 x 1,080 pixels). There is a 2.5D curved glass on the top of the FullView display, which offers an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent. As for the performance, the handset comes powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC. The processor has been mated to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage with support for microSD cards up to 256GB. For security, the phone gets an AI-based face unlock and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
As for the camera department, the Vivo V9 features a rear-facing dual camera module with 16-megapixel primary camera accompanied by a 5-megapixel shooter. The dual camera module has been equipped with LED flash and software-enabled Bokeh. At the front, there is a 24-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calling. The company claims that the front camera is capable of capturing impressive images even in low light. In the software department, Vivo V9 runs the proprietary Funtouch OS 4.0, which is based on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo. The handset sips power from a 3,260mAh battery.
As of now, the pricing details of the smartphone is not known. The Vivo V9 comes in two hues – Gold and Black Ceramic.
