“The Vivo Y12 and Y15 are expected to be priced around Rs 12,000 and Rs 15,000”
Just a week ago, 91mobiles exclusively reported that Vivo is planning to launch a couple of new Y series smartphones in India. As we mentioned in our earlier report, these handsets will arrive as the Y12 and Y15 and will be offered under Rs 15,000 in the country. Now, we have learned the complete specifications as well as got hands on a promotional poster of the upcoming Vivo offerings from our sources in the retail chain.
As per our source, the Vivo Y12 and Y15 will share a handful of specifications. They will arrive with 6.35-inch HD+ displays, possibly with a waterdrop notch above the screen and minimal bezels on the sides. They will be powered by MediaTek’s 12nm fabrication process, based Helio P22 chipset, which will offer a clock speed of up to 2.0GHz. Both will be fuelled by massive 5,000mAh batteries, which unfortunately won’t support fast charging.
In the imaging department, both the Vivo Y12 and Y15 will offer a triple camera setup at the rear. There will be a 13-megapixel primary sensor at the back, aided by a wide-angle 8-megapixel shooter, and a 2-megapixel snapper. For selfies, the Vivo Y12 will offer an 8-megapixel camera, while the Y15 will be fitted with a 16-megapixel shooter.
Apart from the selfie camera, the Vivo Y12 and Y15 will differ in terms of RAM and storage variants. The Vivo Y12 will come in two configurations – 3GB + 64GB and 4GB + 32GB, while the Y15 will be offered in a single 4GB + 64GB memory model. Both the handsets are expected to boot Funtouch OS 9 out of the box, which is based on Android 9.0.
As per our earlier report, the Vivo Y12 will be priced at around Rs 12,000, while the Y15 will carry a sticker price tag of Rs 14,990. Both the handsets will be released at some point this month.
