“The Vivo Y5 price in India will be around Rs 15,000 to position it against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy M30 and Galaxy A70”
Just last month, 91mobiles exclusively reported that Vivo is planning to debut its new Y series smartphones including the Y3 and Y5 in the Indian market during the IPL season. At that time, we didn’t have details regarding the features of the upcoming devices. However now, we exclusively bring you the core specifications of at least one of the forthcoming handsets – the Vivo Y5 – courtesy a Vivo executive, who wants to remain anonymous. In addition, we also have details regarding the Vivo V5 price in India and availability.
According to our source, the Vivo Y5 will be one of the most affordable smartphones with triple rear cameras. The company will be pricing the phone competitively, around Rs 15,000, to take on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy M30 and Galaxy A70. Furthermore, we’ve learned that the Vivo Y5 will boot Android 9 Pie out of the box and will be powered by a massive 5,000mAh battery. Lastly, the executive told us that the handset will be landing in the country at some point after April 15th.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any more details regarding the Vivo Y5 at the moment. However, just yesterday, a triple rear camera-toting handset from Vivo with model number V1901A/T surfaced on the Chinese certification agency TENAA’s website. This smartphone is expected to go official as the Vivo Y5. The listing revealed that this device could feature a 6.35-inch display and a 4,880mAh battery. The images on the certification suggest that the phone will feature a waterdrop notch and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Notably, the same Vivo smartphone was recently also spotted on Geekbench with a MediaTek Helio P35 processor, 4GB of RAM, and Android 9 Pie.
As far as the Vivo Y3 is concerned, it will be a more affordable offering than the Vivo Y5, and will be priced between Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. This one will also boot Android 9 Pie, and will be released during the ongoing IPL season.
