Woman bites iPhone security cable

The culprit in question is a woman with the surname Qiu who hails from the Fujian province in southeastern China, South China Morning Post reported. The incident took place quite cautiously as the store staff didn’t notice anything unusual about the theft. It started with Qiu expressing shock at the iPhone 14 Plus’s price (starts at Rs 89,900 in India), and then just exploring the phone like any normal customer would.

The surveillance footage showed that Qiu leaned on the counter with the phone in her hand. She then starts to bite the security cable, and manages to completely chew it off. Qiu is then seen putting the phone inside her bag, and leaving the store as if nothing happened. She even pretended to be a normal customer by just scrolling through the phone as she walked out of the store.

An alarm went off after the theft but store staff didn’t notice anything different. They found out about it only through surveillance footage. The store staff called the police who caught her outside her home. The investigation also revealed that Qiu had originally planned to purchase a new phone since she lost her old one. But it was after hearing about the prices that she decided to steal one. This is obviously not recommended but that was some quick thinking, and very strong teeth that helped Qiu steal an iPhone with no one having noticed anything unusual.
