Xiaomi has scheduled the HyperOS developer update for the following 11 devices:
So, the Xiaomi 12S series, Xiaomi 12 series, Redmi K50 series, and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro are eligible for this OTA update.
Xiaomi Pad 6 was present in the last release but Xiaomi Pad 5 is still missing. There is no mention of the Xiaomi 13 series either.
Initially, even the Xiaomi 12S lineup was not present in Xiaomi's post on its community forums but was later added with a note highlighting the significance of the Xiaomi 12S series as they were the first Leica-branded Xiaomi smartphones in the market.
Besides the smoother animations, HyperOS is also said to bring faster boot times, longer retention of apps in the background memory, etc.
HyperOS packs AI text generation, doodles to image creator, image searching using natural language queries, and the ability to capture text from images.
HyperOS also works as a connecting tissue between its various devices. Thus we have features like the ability to continue the tasks in an app on a different device, accept calls on other devices, and allow other devices to use your primary device's homescreen, universal clipboard, notification mirroring, use the phone's rear cameras as a webcam for Xiaomi laptops, share your mobile data with other devices, etc.
Xiaomi has opened up some parts of HyperOS to the open-source community. Meanwhile, the OS comes with a higher level of encryption and permission management rules.
HyperOS has an iOS-like lockscreen, widgets, Dynamic-Island-like notification system, Quick Settings menu, etc.
