WhatsApp redesign
The new WhatsApp redesign was first spotted by WABetaInfo who also shared a screenshot to show what changes are being implemented. The first thing we spot is the complete white background on the app even on top, which currently has a green banner. With the white background only WhatsApp can be seen in green colour, and that too with a different font.
Another noticeable change is the addition of filters on top of chats that will help you segregate the different types of messages you get on WhatsApp. The first one shows you all your chats, the second tab will display your unread messages, the third is for personal chats, and the fourth for business chats. These filters should be useful considering how all communication, personal, work and business, take place on WhatsApp.
Other than these changes, rest of the features are the same. The bottom bar has the chats, status, communities and calls menu. Then you have the camera icon, search button, and settings icon on top of the app.
The redesign is currently in development, and not ready for release yet. It’s not available even to beta testers yet. But the redesign looks almost done so we expect it to release soon, at least to its beta programme on Android. There’s no word on whether a redesign for iOS is planned or not. The two systems usually have different designs that are optimised to blend with each UI.
