Display-testing firm DisplayMate has just tested the screen on the recently launched iPhone XS Max. The firm claims that the Cupertino tech giant's largest iPhone till date flaunts the best performing mobile screen it has ever tested. After a series of advanced viewing tests and measurements, DisplayMate says that the OLED screen on the iPhone XS Max offers a number of improvements over the original iPhone X. Notably, the firm previously said that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (review) had the best smartphone screen it had ever tested.
The Apple iPhone XS Max flaunts a 6.5-inch OLED True Tone 120Hz touch-sensing screen with support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 standards. As per DisplayMate, the phone has met and set a few records. Some of the notable ones include absolute colour accuracy, screen reflectivity, highest full-screen brightness, and variation of the brightness with viewing angle. The handset also offers the highest contrast ratio (infinite) and highest visible screen resolution – 2,688 x 1,242.
The firm added that the OLED screen in the iPhone XS Max allows for an HDR display with the industry's best colour accuracy. The company's extensive testing was specifically with the iPhone XS Max, but the majority of records also apply to the 5.8-inch iPhone XS as well.
