The iPhone 15 series debuted globally last week. The most significant change the new generation of iPhones brings is the USB Type-C port, which is a big shift from the Lightning port. Now, Apple is reportedly planning to launch more Type-C accessories including the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard will get the Type-C port soon. For those unaware, Apple already introduced AirPods Pro with a USB Type-C port.
Apple Magic accessories to get Type-C port
- In his weekly newsletter, Power On, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claimed that the accessories will get the Type-C port next month i.e. October and these will debut along with the new iMac.
- According to Gurman, the 2023 lineup is considered a temporary solution and more significant innovations will debut next year, including USB-C integration in more devices.
- The analyst also predicts the brand will introduce the vanilla AirPods with USB-C charging case in 2023 but a timeline is not specific.
- The next-generation AirPods Max may also incorporate the Type-C charging port soon.
- The newsletter also mentions that Apple will return the MagSafe Battery Pack and MagSafe Duo Charger but with USB-C charging ports.
- It appears that Apple is transitioning the entire product lineup to the Type-C port, including all accessories.
Apple Watch Series X
In the newsletter, Gurman says that the most-anticipated 10th anniversary Apple Watch, popularly dubbed the Apple Watch Series X, will debut sometime in 2024 or 2025. This new model is expected to come with a new AI-powered health coaching service, blood pressure monitor and much more.
Gurman says he predicts Apple might introduce a new redesigned iPad Pro. This will be the first design change in five years. This will come with an OLED display for both the 11-inch and 13-inch models. There will also be improved accessories like an overhauled Magic Keyboard. Apple is also expected to introduce 3nm M3 processors on new MacBooks and Macs, bigger display sizes on the iPhone 16 and Apple GPT in 2024.
In the same report, Gurman says the Apple Vision Pro won’t generate much revenue. The headset will draw consumers to Apple retail stores.
