After a barrage of leaks and rumours, the Honor 10 Youth Edition smartphone has been launched at an event in China today. The smartphone is likely to be known with the "Lite" moniker when it releases globally. As the name suggests, the handset is a toned-down variant of the company last year's flagship model Honor 10 (review). The new handset from the Huawei sub-brand Honor comes with the latest pearl notch display design that looks similar to the waterdrop notch. The other major highlights of the phone include Kirin 710 chipset, dual camera module on the back panel, and Android Pie out of the box.

As for the specifications, Honor 10 Youth Edition sports a 6.21-inch display with a resolution of Full HD+ (2,340 x 1,080 pixels) and a tiny cutout up top to house the selfie camera and sensors. At the handset's core lies the octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset (four 2.2GHz Cortex A73 cores + four 1.7GHz Cortex A53 cores). It is backed by 4GB/ 6GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB onboard storage, and microSD card support up to 512GB.
In the camera department, the Honor 10 Youth Edition features a 24-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies and video calling. The primary camera on the rear panel comes with a 13-megapixel main sensor backed by a 2-megapixel secondary shooter for depth effect. The sensors are also aided by LED flash and nifty AI features to enhance photos.
The phone boots Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0 out of the box. A 3,320mAh battery fuels the Honor 10 Youth Edition, with a 5V/ 2A charger. Unlike the Honor 10, the new smartphone employs a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel for security. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone offer dual-SIM capabilities, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and a micro USB port.
The Honor 10 Youth Edition price starts at RMB 1,399 (~Rs 14,500) for the base 4GB + 64GB variant in China. The 6GB + 64GB variant costs RMB 1,699 (~Rs 17,500), while the top-end 6GB + 128GB config model sets you back by RMB 1,899 (~Rs 19,500). The handset will be available in three gradient shades, namely Black, Blue, and White.
