At the ‘Time Flies’ event on Tuesday, Apple introduced the iPad Air (4th generation) and iPad (8th generation) alongside the Apple Watch Series 6 and Watch SE. The new iPad Air 4 is the first Apple product to ship with the latest A14 Bionic chipset that is claimed to offer a 40 percent boost in CPU performance and a 30 percent improvement in graphics. Apple says the new 16-core Neural Engine can perform up to 11 trillion operations per second and the chipset is based on a 5nm process. The iPad 8 is the company’s entry-level tablet that features a 10.2-inch Retina display, A12 Bionic chipset, and support for Apple Pencil. Apple iPad Air 4 and iPad 8 prices in India
The iPad Air (4th generation) price in India starts from Rs 54,900 for the 64GB Wi-Fi version and Rs 68,900 for the 256GB model. The 64GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model sets you back by Rs 66,900 and the 256GB Wi-Fi + Cellular variant costs Rs 80,900. Apple Pencil (2nd gen) is priced at Rs 10,900, Magic Keyboard and the Smart Keyboard Folio for iPad Air cost Rs 27,900 and Rs 15,900, respectively. iPad Air (4th generation) will go on sale in October via Apple Authorised Resellers.
The Apple iPad (8th generation) India price starts from Rs 29,900 for the 32GB and Rs 37,900 for the 128GB Wi-Fi variants. The 32GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model costs Rs 41,900 and 128GB storage option sets you back by Rs 48,900. iPad (8th generation) will be available soon through Apple Authorised Resellers.
Apple iPad Air (4th Gen) specifications
iPad Air (4th Gen) sports a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display with P3 Colour Gamut and 500 nits brightness. The bezels have been trimmed and the overall design looks similar to the iPad Pro. The new iPad Air is powered by the latest 5nm six-core A14 SoC with quad-core graphics, and either 64GB or 256GB storage options. The tablet will ship with iPad OS 14 out of the box. As for the optics, the latest iPad Air features a single 12MP (f/2.4 aperture) sensor with a Hybrid IR filter. On the front, it has a 7MP snapper with Retina Flash. It is equipped with dual microphones for calls, stereo speakers, a Touch ID sensor embedded in a slim power button on the top, and a 28.6Wh lithium-polymer battery. Connectivity options include Gigabit 4G LTE (optional), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB Type-C port.

Apple iPad (8th Gen) sports a 10.2-inch Retina display with 500 nits brightness and 264 PPI. It is powered by the 7nm A12 Bionic SoC paired with either 32GB or 128GB storage variants. The tablet runs on the latest iOS 14 out of the box and has a traditional Touch ID button below the display. There is an 8MP primary camera with a Hybrid IR filter. On the front, it has a 1.2MP snapper with Retina Flash for video chats. Connectivity options include Gigabit 4G LTE (optional), dual-band Wi‑Fi, USB Type-C port and Bluetooth 4.2. It measures 250.6x 174.1x 7.5mm and weighs 490 grams (Wi-Fi) / 495 grams (4G). A 32.4Wh lithium-polymer battery fuels the tablet. The Apple iPad (8th Gen) has support for Apple Pencil and smart keyboard.
