Motorola is working on the fourth model in its Z series, named the Moto Z4. The smartphone has been part of the rumour mill for nearly six months, with several key details leaked already, Now, 91mobiles has gotten its hands on internal marketing material related to the Moto Z4, which reveals key specifications and features of the upcoming smartphone. This document confirms many of the rumours we have seen in the past and gives us a look at everything we can expect from the Moto Z4 when it launches in the coming months.
According to the Motorola marketing material, the Moto Z4 will feature a 6.4-inch OLED panel with full-HD resolution and an in-display fingerprint sensor, rather than the 6.22-inch screen rumoured previously. The smartphone will run stock Android 9 Pie operating system with Google’s Digital Wellbeing and Lens as well as Motorola’s Moto Display, Moto Actions, Moto Experiences. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 675 SoC, with support for 5G networks thanks to the company’s 5G mods.
The document reveals the Moto Z4 will have a single 48-megapixel camera on the back; this sensor will use the company’s Quad Pixel technology to combine four pixels into a single large pixel to deliver a 12-megapixel image. The document also mentions the rear camera will introduce the rumoured Night Vision mode, which we can expect to be similar to Google’s Night Sight. A 25-megapixel camera with Group Selfie mode will be in the front. In lowlight conditions, the handset is claimed to use Quad Pixel mode to deliver “incredibly sharp” 6-megapixel photos. Of course, AI integration for photography and AR stickers will be part of the package.
Moto Z4 will be powered by a 3,600mAh battery with TurboCharge fast-charging support is claimed to deliver charge of up to 2 days. The handset is also said to have a water-repellent design, though no IP rating is mentioned, suggesting a splash-proof nano-coating is being used. The 3.5mm audio jack is here to stay another year in the Z series. While there is no Moto Z4 price given in the marketing material, it does say that the handset will be “half the price” the flagships retail at. It is not a surprise since the Moto Z3 launched in the US last year at a price tag of $480.
Previous rumours have said that the Moto Z4 specifications will include 4GB and 6GB RAM options as well as 64GB and 128GB internal storage options. Renders of the smartphone have shown the handset with a waterdrop-style notch, 16-pin pogo connector on the back for Moto Mods, Power and Volume buttons on the left edge, and USB Type-C port.
