ZTE's sub-brand nubia has joined the club of 5G smartphone manufacturers at this year's MWC Shanghai. Called the nubia X 5G, the phone appears to be a variant of the nubia X flagship, which was launched last year. The 5G model offers the same dual-display design found on the 4G model. The smartphone sports a truly bezel-free display on the front, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and dual primary cameras at the rear.
The nubia X 5G is equipped with Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 flagship processor. The phone is also loaded with Qualcomm's X50 modem that enables the 5G connectivity. Unfortunately, the company hasn't revealed anything else about the specifications of the nubia X 5G. However, it's likely to have the same internals as the nubia X, except for the processor and modem. Also, nubia hasn't yet announced when it will launch the nubia X 5G, but we do know that it will first premiere in China.
As for the nubia X, the smartphone has an edge-to-edge 6.26-inch FHD+ display on the front with an aspect ratio of 19:9. At the rear, the handset features a 5.1-inch HD+ OLED secondary screen. The rear display supports always-on feature that allows you to see notifications and more without waking up the handset. The smartphone doesn't have a selfie camera, but you can use the dual rear cameras and the secondary display to capture self-portraits.
Talking about the other specs, the nubia X is powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor, aided by up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The handset has a 16MP primary camera at the rear, aided by a 24MP secondary snapper with an LED flash unit. Software-wise, the phone was released running Android 8.1 Oreo with nubia UI 6.0 on top. Lastly, a 3,800mAh battery with NeoPower 3.0 fast charging support completes the list of the specifications.
