OnePlus TV kevlar back teased ahead of launch

“OnePlus TV is confirmed to ship with Android TV platform, 3GB RAM and a dedicated Gamma Color Magic’ picture processor”

OnePlus TV launch is right around the corner, and the company is revealing newer details about the product at a fast pace. Recently, we’ve seen the design of the TV’s remote and learnt that the upcoming OnePlus TV would come with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos features. Now, the brand’s CEO, Pete Lau, has tweeted out yet another image of the TV, revealing the back of the TV. This suggests it would come equipped with kevlar finish. While its a little hard to decrypt the design, it seems like OnePlus isn’t compromising with the build quality and durability. The TV also has a slight curvature at the back and there aren’t any ports or vents in sight.

Furthermore, the rear casing appears seems to be attached to what looks like a metal-clad stand. This also reiterates the TV would pack premium materials and given that OnePlus is aiming to pit the TV against the likes of Samsung, LG and others, it is not a huge surprise. The OnePlus TV would run on the Android TV platform with content and smartphone integration and promised updates for three years, which is impressive. It will also come with Google Assistant support for hands-free voice control, Chromecast, and Google Play app store.

OnePlus TV is expected to be powered by the MediaTek MT5670 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It is also confirmed to come equipped with ‘Gamma Color Magic‘ picture processor for realistic and immersive image quality. The TV is confirmed to launch in India sometime this month, likely on September 26th, and it would be available via Amazon online and retail stores.
