OPPO introduces the A59 with 5.5-inch HD display, octa-core SoC and 3GB RAM

OPPO recently launched the F1 Plus FC Barcelona Edition in China. Today, the company has expanded its range of VFM smartphones with the launch of the OPPO A59. The new offering from the brand sports a metal unibody design, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the vendor’s ColorOS 3.0 user interface on top.

As far as the specs are concerned, the OPPO A59 offers a 5.5-inch IPS HD display with a pixel density of 267ppi. It is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor, aided by a Mali T860 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The phone comes with 32GB storage, which can be further increased via a microSD card.

For imaging, the OPPO A59 sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with an LED flash and f/2.2 aperture, and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper with f/2.0 aperture. In terms of connectivity, the phone offers 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, USB OTG, FM Radio, Bluetooth and GPS. A 3,075mAh battery keeps the phone alive.

The OPPO A59 also sports a fingerprint sensor, which is integrated into the home button of the phone. It has been priced at the equivalent of Rs 18,300, and will be available in China starting June 18th in gold and rose gold colour variants.
