OPPO K3 complete specs surface in e-tailer listing ahead of May 23rd launch

OPPO unveiled its first K series smartphone, called the OPPO K1, in China last October. Soon after in February, the company released the handset in the Indian market. Now, the phone maker is all set to unveil its next K series offering, the OPPO K3, in China on May 23rd. Ahead of the unveiling, the brand has already teased a handful of features of the upcoming handset. Now, the product listing of the OPPO K3 on the Chinese e-tailer JD.com has revealed complete specs of the device. In addition, new teasers from the company have also disclosed a few interesting details about the handset.

According to the listing on JD.com, the OPPO K3 will feature a design similar to the Reno series handsets. The phone will have an all-screen front, a pop-up selfie camera, and a dual primary camera setup at the rear. As for the specs, the listing suggests that the smartphone will offer a 6.5-inch AMOLED display from Samsung with a screen resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. The phone will be powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor.

Furthermore, the listing suggests that the OPPO K3 will come in two RAM and storage variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB and 8GB RAM + 128GB. For imaging, the handset will feature a 16MP primary snapper at the rear, aided by a 2MP secondary snapper and an LED flash. For selfies, there will be a 16-megapixel shooter that will come out of the top-edge whenever required. Software-wise, the phone will boot ColorOS 6.0 based on Android Pie.

Notably, the OPPO K3 will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. In terms of connectivity, the handset will offer dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and a USB type-C port. A 3,765mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging support will keep the whole package alive. Lastly, the listing indicates that the phone will be available in Nebula Purple, Morning White, and Secret Black hues. Notably, the e-tailer is allowing users to pre-register for the upcoming handset. 

As for the teasers, OPPO has revealed that the K3 will offer DC dimming and stroboscopic eye protection features-equipped display. The handset will sport a sixth-gen in-display fingerprint sensor, which is said to offer 28.5 percent improved performance than its predecessor. The phone’s dual rear camera setup will offer features like Ultra Clear Night View 2.0, multi-frame noise reduction, and hand-held night scene mode. Lastly, the brand has confirmed that the new K series device will feature a 6.5-inch display and a Snapdragon 710 SoC.

OPPO has also teased that the base variant of the OPPO K3 will be priced at RMB 1X99. The rumour mill indicates that this variant could be offered for RMB 1,999 (roughly Rs 20,100). We will have official details in a matter of days so we won’t have to wait long to figure out.
