Xiaomi sub-brand POCO isn't done yet. The brand reportedly has been in the news for working on a new smartphone that will succeed the POCO F1 smartphone from 2018. POCO's global head late last month teased the brand isn't done yet. Now, an unannounced smartphone by the name POCO X2 has surfaced on Geekbench. The benchmarking platform reveals the upcoming POCO phone will run Android 10 OS to take care of its software side of things. The POCO X2 is said to have 1.80GHz octa-core chipset codenamed as "phoenixin," paired with 8GB of RAM under the hood. While the chipset details are unknown at the moment, we can tell it helps the phone score 547 points in the single-core test and 1,767 points in the multi-core test.
Since it's the very first time the POCO X2 is hitting headlines, that's all we know so far. Interestingly, the POCO X2 Geekbench scores are similar to the Redmi K30's, which was launched in China last month. Will it be a rebranded version Redmi K30 smartphone? We'll have to wait and watch.
Redmi K30 runs Android 10-based MIUI 11 out of the box and comes with both 4G and 5G variants. The 4G variant is powered by Snapdragon 730G SoC, while the Redmi K30 5G rocks the new Snapdragon 765G gaming-centric SoC. The phonemaker ships the handset with up to 8GB RAM + 256GB storage onboard. The handset has a 6.67-inch LCD display that bears 120Hz refresh rate, Full-HD+ resolution, and a punch-hole for dual selfie cameras. The camera features a 20MP main sensor + 2MP secondary depth sensor on the front for selfies and video calling.
For photography, the Redmi K30 5G sports quad rear cameras that have 64MP Sony IMX686 working as the primary sensor, followed by an 8MP super wide-angle lens, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth. The 4G variant comes with a similar setup but exchanges the 5MP macro lens for a 2MP macro lens. The entire setup is driven by a beefy battery cell with up to 30W fast charging support.
The Redmi K30 price in China starts at RMB 1,599 (~Rs 16,500). The handset is expected to launch in India soon.
