Realme 8 5G series launch date is April 21st in Thailand, as revealed by the company through its local Facebook page. The phones will come as upgraded variants to the standard Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro that debuted in India last month. The teaser hints the Realme 8 5G will have a quad-camera setup and a unique gradient design. However, it doesn’t seem to have the ‘Dare to Leap’ tagline featured on the back, like the original Realme 8. Realme 8 5G specifications recently appeared on Geekbench, revealing key specifications. Realme 8 5G and Realme 8 Pro 5G are already confirmed to launch in India.

Realme 8 5G

Realme 8 5G is expected to come with 8GB RAM, Android 11 OS, and the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor. The phone is said to measure 162.5x 74.8×8.5mm, and weigh around 185 grams. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much everything we so far know about Realme 8 5G but since the launch is just a few days away, we should learn more soon.

Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro specifications

To recall, the Realme 8 Pro sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, 2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution, 180Hz touch-sampling rate, and 1000nits brightness. It is powered by the Snapdragon 720G SoC paired with Adreno 618 GPU, up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage that is further expandable. The phone runs on Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 out of the box and packs a 4,500mAh battery with 50W fast-charging support but the company is bundling a 65W adapter in the box.

Realme 8 Pro has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 108MP (f/1.88 aperture) Samsung HM2 primary sensor with PDAF and 6P Lens, an 8MP (f/2.25 aperture) ultra-wide-angle lens with a 119-degree field of view, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP B&W lens. There is a 16MP Sony IMX471 snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data sync.

Realme 8 has the same 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, 2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution, 180Hz touch-sampling rate, and 1000nits brightness. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 SoC paired with Mali-G76 MC4 GPU, up to 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage. The phone boots Android 11 OS with Realme UI 2.0 skin on top.
