Truecaller will now make it easier to answer calls with an AI-based assistant. Yes, if there’s an unknown number calling, and you don’t want to talk then you can let the ‘Truecaller Assistant’ speak on your behalf. It can also be helpful in situations when you’re busy, and you can’t receive calls.
Truecaller Assistant now in India
Truecaller Assistant was launched globally last year, and it is now available in India. This feature is currently available only on Android phones. The Assistant is available in five different voice, both male and female, so you can choose whichever you prefer. In addition to English and Hindi, it supports other regional languages as well.
Truecaller Assistant is currently available as a 14-day free trial to all users. After the free trial, you will have to pay for Truecaller Premium if you want to continue using it. You can get the subscription for Rs 149 per month or Rs 1,499 per year. You can also opt for Truecaller Gold which costs Rs 5,000 per year.
How to use Truecaller Assistant
- To get started, you need to first download Truecaller on your Android phone.
- Open the Truecaller app and set up your assistant by choosing the preferred voice from the list of options available.
- After you’ve set it up, your assistant will be ready to take calls for you.
- When you get an incoming call you’ll get the option to select ‘Assistant’ to answer it for you.
- If you don’t answer your call then your Assistant will automatically answer it.
- You can also customise the greeting message for your Assistant. Since it’s a virtual assistant, the greeting will include an introduction saying that it’s your Assistant, and also ask the reason behind the call.
Some other features of Truecaller Assistant include speech-to-text that transcribes the call in real time, and shows it on your phone. So while your Assistant is in the call you will get to read the conversation in real time. It also records the call so you can check the details later.
