In the late '90s and the early 2000s, Vertu phones were the epitome of luxury. While the brand has been struggling in the last few years and changed ownership multiple times, it is not yet done. The latest from the house of Vertu is the Aster P, a smartphone that has been launched in China and sports a titanium alloy frame, sapphire glass screen and back panels dressed in genuine leather.
The new Vertu Aster P has a 4.97-inch display and is powered by Snapdragon 660 coupled with 6GB of RAM. On the imaging front, the device sports a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 20-megapixel selfie camera. On the software side, however, the smartphone doesn't come preinstalled with Google Play Store.
If you are bored of the conventional design than the Vertu Aster P is a delight. The back panels open like a gull wing with two moving parts. Underneath one of the panels is a SIM card slot while the other one features a signature of the person who has handcrafted the phone.
Next up is the concierge button. This button can be personalised and can be mapped to a service of your choice. So next time you can call your chauffeur or ask your butler to get your favourite drink at the press of a button.
The Vertu Aster P uses an encryption technology called V Talk. This encryption will keep your calls and messages safe from intruders. Furthermore, the company has also baked in an exclusive security app that locks the device when its stolen or is being used by an unauthorized person. Adding a dash of exclusivity is the color palette, the Vertu Aster P can be had in Black, Gentleman Blue, Caramel Brown, and Twilight Orange. As expected the device costs a bomb at CNY 29,800 (~Rs 3,07,893).
