WhatsApp Channels was launched in September last year after staying in beta for a few months. This is similar to Telegram Channels, and it essentially serves as a broadcasting tool to help reach a large number of users easily. It also lets users join a public group but without interfering with their personal WhatsApp chats.
According to Meta, WhatsApp Channels has already surpassed 500 million monthly active users. The brand added that there are thousands of WhatsApp Channels available on the app.
