After a long wait, the official Xiaomi Mi 3 flip covers and screen protector are finally up for pre-order on Flipkart. The two accessories were first listed on the e-commerce website alongside Xiaomi's powerbanks and in-ear headset nearly three weeks ago.
The Mi 3 flip covers features a water-resistant finish, and can fold into a stand as well. They're priced at Rs 559, and are available in a choice of black, white and blue hues. The screen protector is listed for Rs 179. These accessories are expected to ship in the last week of August.
The Mi Power Banks, one of Xiaomi’s most hotly-anticipated accessories, are yet to go on sale via Flipkart, although they are available from third-party sellers for more than the official price. The power banks are available in 5,200mAh and 10,400mAh capacities, and are officially priced at Rs 799 and Rs 999 respectively.
The Xiaomi Mi 3 went on sale for the fifth time today, and was sold out in just 2.3 seconds. Xiaomi has been selling the smartphone in small batches of 10,000 – 20,000 units, and while the response has been overwhelming for the company, it’s resulted in thousands of disgruntled buyers, even prompting Vice President Hugo Barra to issue an apology.
The Xiaomi Mi 3 (review) features a 5-inch full HD display and runs the company’s proprietary MIUI software on top of Android KitKat. The device is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of non-expandable storage. The Mi 3 packs in a 13MP primary camera with dual LED flash along with a 2MP front snapper. It is backed by an ample 3,050mAh battery, and offers 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and USB OTG. The smartphone is priced at Rs 13,999, and is scheduled to go on sale again on August 26th.
