MWC 2017: Gionee’s A1 Plus boasts dual cameras and a 20MP selfie shooter, while the A1 rocks a 16MP front camera

Gionee has added two more Android smartphones to its portfolio with the launch of the A1 and A1 Plus at MWC. The brand’s latest offerings sport a premium all-metal unibody design, fingerprint sensors placed below the rear cameras and boot Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with Amigo 4.0 UI on top. 

Gionee's new A series smartphones are selfie-centric offerings that come with beefy batteries. The Gionee A1 gets a 16MP front shooter with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and a selfie flash. The Gionee A1 Plus gets a better 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and a selfie flash. The A1 Plus also boasts dual rear cameras - 13MP + 5MP sensors with autofocus, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and an LED flash. The Gionee A1 gets only a single 13MP camera on the back. 

The Gionee A1 features a 5.5-inch full HD display, and utilises a 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM. The storage on board is 64GB, further expandable up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card. In terms of connectivity, it offers 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The phone is fuelled by a beefy 4,010mAh battery, which supports 18W rapid fast charging. 

The Gionee A1 Plus is the bigger of the duo with a 6-inch full HD In-Cell display. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P25 processor, mated to 4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB of expandable storage, dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE and a 4,550mAh battery with fast charging support. The Gionee A1 and A1 Plus also offer Waves MaxxAudio. 

The Gionee A1 comes in black, grey and gold, while the A1 Plus is being offered in black and mocha gold variants. The Gionee A1 has been priced at 349 Euros (~Rs 25,000), while the A1 Plus will set you back by 499 Euros (~Rs 35,500), and will be available in March and April respectively.
