How to watch Google I/O 2021 event online

The Google I/O 2021 will kick off at 01:00 PM ET (10:30 PM IST) on May 18th. The event will be streamed live on the brand’s official channel on YouTube. We have embedded the live stream video below in the post for your convenience.

What to expect from Google I/O 2021

The official description for the Google I/O 2021 event says “Tune in to find out about how we’re furthering our mission to organise the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful“. While the description doesn’t hint at anything specific, we can make some educated guesses about what to expect from the event.

Android 12

Usually, Google utilizes the I/O event to announce features of the next major version of Android. So, it is possible that the brand could detail the upcoming version of its mobile operating system, the Android 12, at the Google I/O 2021 event. The Android 12 operating system is expected to bring significant changes to the UI including stacked widgets and a new lock screen with a larger clock text.

Google Pixel Buds A-series

The Google Pixel Buds A-series true wireless earphones (TWS) have already been leaked multiple times in the past, and a few of those leaks were from Google itself. The Pixel Buds A-series is expected to launch as a more affordable version of the second-generation Pixel Buds. Considering that Google had accidentally announced the Pixel Buds A-series earlier this month, it is very much possible that the brand could finally launch the TWS earphones officially at the Google I/O 2021 event.

Google GS101 custom processor

According to various leaks, Google seems to be working on a custom chipset, codenamed GS101, for the upcoming Pixel phones. The SoC is said to have a three-cluster CPU setup and come with a Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) for accelerating machine learning performance and a Titan M security chip for enhanced security. Considering that the Pixel 6 series is expected to make its debut later this year, it is highly likely that the brand could shed some light on its custom chipset at the Google I/O 2021 event.

Google Services

At every Google I/O event, the company reveals major updates to its services and software such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Home, etcetera. We can expect the brand to announce new features for its existing products this year as well. However, we don’t have any specifics at the moment. That being said, the Google I/O event is only a few hours away and we will know everything soon enough.
