Unlike most smartphone manufacturers, which are preparing to launch their new flagship models at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month, Huawei has some other plans. Instead of sharing the limelight with others, the company plans to wait a month to launch its next-generation premium smartphones. This revelation was made by Huawei Poland, which announced that the upcoming P30 flagship series handsets would be introduced at the end of March in Paris, France.
The P30 lineup will be the successor of Huawei's P20 series, which was unveiled in 2018 around the same time. Besides the confirmation, Jefferson Zhang, managing director of Huawei CBG Poland, also mentioned, "The company's strong business position follows among others from the success of the sale of flagship smartphones - the P20 and Mate 20 series combined with the continued demand for products from the medium price segment, among others P series smart."
Huawei P30 Pro is expected to arrive with an LCD display like its predecessor P20 Pro. However, the size of the display would be 6.5-inch, bigger than the P20 Pro. Under the hood, the device would feature a HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC with an octa-core processor and an impressive 12GB RAM. In terms of optics, the P30 Pro would get the Mate 20 Pro lens setup as per the previous report. This means it would come with a triple camera setup at the back including a 40-megapixel primary lens, a 20-megapixel wide-angle lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The other model in the series, the P30, would reportedly flaunt a slightly smaller display of 6.1-inch and come with 8GB RAM.
