Earlier this month, 91mobiles exclusively reported that HMD Global might launch the Nokia X7 smartphone – that was recently unveiled in China – as the Nokia 8.1 in India soon. And now, the brand has gone ahead and officially teased a new smartphone launch, which could mark the entry of Nokia 8.1 in the country. Key highlights of the Nokia X7 include the 6.18-inch HDR10 display, dual cameras on the back, up to 6GB RAM, and Snapdragon 710 SoC.

Nokia Mobile India has posted a cryptic tweet from its official Twitter handle that reads, "The picture's about to get rosy with an epic viewing experience. Get ready to #ExpectMore." The video shows a red background with roses and reveals the silhouette of a smartphone with a display notch. We can see a rose petal falling on the screen and brighting up an area to clearly mark the display panel of the smartphone.
This along with the caption of the tweet might be hinting towards the display showing sharper pictures and more contrast with HDR10 support. Moreover, the red background along with the use of word 'rosy' might be hinting at the Night Red variant of the Nokia X7. However, the tweet doesn't reveal much including the launch date and price.
However, in our exclusive report about the Indian launch of the smartphone, we revealed HMD Global could launch the Nokia X7 in the country as Nokia 8.1 on November 28th, with a price tag of Rs 23,999. To recall, the Nokia 8.1 will come with a 6.18-inch full-HD+ screen and is powered by the upper mid-range Snapdragon 710 processor. The processor is backed by up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB expandable storage. There is 13MP + 12MP sensors with LED flash on the rear and a 20-megapixel shooter up front.
The handset boots stock Android Oreo and gets a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. The smartphone relies on a 3,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging for power requirements. As for connectivity, the Nokia 8.1 offers 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS with GLONASS, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm earphone jack.
