Realme is set to make its debut on its home soil China with the launch of Realme X and Realme X Youth/ Lite edition on May 15th. As the launch inches closer, the brand has started teasing the Realme X's features on Weibo. It already confirmed the handset would feature an AMOLED panel and boasts an impressive 91.2 percent screen to body ratio. Now, the latest poster confirms the smartphone will feature a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture. The teaser image further reveals the Realme X would also rock an improved Nightscape mode, which was introduced with the Realme 3.
According to rumours, the Realme X is widely believed to sport a notch-less, edge-to-edge display and a pop-up selfie camera. The TENAA listing reveals the Realme X will pack a 6.5-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer and ship with a 3,680mAh battery. It is also expected to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC and said to come in three variants – 6GB+ 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB storage options. The phone could run on Android 9.0 Pie with ColorOS 6.0 skin on top.
As for the optics, Realme X is said to rock a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary depth unit for portrait shots. On the front, a 16MP shooter is expected to take care of selfies and video chats. It's also likely to get VOOC 3.0 fast charge support and an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security. Rumours also suggest the handset may come with a starting price of RMB 1,599 (~Rs 16,476) that will go up to RMB 1,999 (~Rs 20,000) for the top variant.
The recently-launched Realme 3 Pro is also rumoured to be headed to China, under the marketing name Realme X Lite/ Youth Edition. The company is also believed to be working on a Snapdragon 855-powered Realme X Pro, which may be launched at a later date.
