Apart from the Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 7 Pro at an event in India today. The handset makes its global debut here in the country and, as was confirmed, it boasts of a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor that's said to capture slightly better images compared to the Samsung ISOCELL GM1 sensor with similar resolution. Other than that, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is powered by Qualcomm's latest 11nm Snapdragon 675 chipset that was recently announced in Vivo V15 Pro. Xiaomi claims that the handset scored 1,80,808 score in Antutu benchmarking site - the highest by any device in the segment.

The Redmi Note 7 Pro prices in India are Rs 13,999 and Rs 16,999 for the 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB variants, respectively. The handset will come in Neptune Blue, Nebula Red, and Space Black colours. The Redmi Note 7 Pro first sale date is March 13th, with the sale going live at 12pm. The handset will be available only via Mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home stores for now; it will come to Mi Preferred Partner stores soon. As for the launch offer, Airtel will give buyers 1,120GB of complimentary data on purchasing the smartphone. Apart from this, buyers will get a free protective case with the handset, while the new perforated case will be available at Rs 349.
Other than the smartphones, Xiaomi also launched a new 32-inch Mi TV and affordable Bluetooth earphones at the event.
Similar to the Redmi Note 7, the 'Pro' variant also dons a glass sandwich design with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with a slight cut-out up top, which the company likes to call Dot Notch. The Snapdragon 675 chipset ticking at its core is paired with Adreno 612GPU and up to 6GB RAM. The phone comes with up to 128GB internal storage, which can be further expandable using a microSD card.
For photography, the 48-megapixel (f/1.79) Sony IMX sensor on the rear is mated with 5-megapixel depth-sensing shooter with LED flash. The cameras are backed by pixel binning, 4k video recording, EIS, AI scene detection and AI portrait to further enhance the results. Xiaomi will further add Studio Lighting to the handset via a software update in the future. As for selfies and video calling, the handset rocks 13-megapixel shooter on the front with AI-powered portrait selfie, beautify, scene detection, face unlock, and more.
The phone boots Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10 custom skin out of the box. On the battery front, it houses a 4,000mAh cell that is claimed to last up to 2 days on a single charge. The battery is backed by Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4 tech to rapidly recharge the beefy battery. Other features include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and connectivity options such as dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, GPS, infrared, and 3.5mm audio jack.
