Earlier this year in August, Optiemus Infracomm introduced the BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X (first impressions) as the first BlackBerry smartphone conceptualised, design, and manufactured in India. While the EvolveX has been on sale since August, the Evolve's launch was slightly delayed in India. However, today, the company has announced that the BlackBerry Evolve will be available in India starting October 10th. The device will go on sale exclusively on Amazon India.
To recap the specs, the BlackBerry Evolve is a mid-range offering with the taller 18:9 display. The phone sports a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels, and boots Android Oreo out of the box. The device is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, aided by 4GB of RAM. The storage capacity on board is 64GB, which can be further increased up to 256GB by inserting a microSD card.
Moving on to the other features, the BlackBerry Evolve sports dual 13-megapixel primary cameras at the rear with autofocus, dual-tone LED flash, and 2K video recording support. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone offers a 16-megapixel shooter with an LED flash unit. In terms of the connectivity, the phone gets 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and A-GPS. A 4,000mAh battery completes the list of the specs.
