Xiaomi recently scheduled the launch of a new smartphone called Mi 9T for June 12th. The company hasn't confirmed where it'll be launching the handset yet, but speculations are it could be a global unveiling for the rebranded version of Redmi K20 smartphone. The latter was announced last month in China as the brand's first pop-up selfie camera phone. Now, ahead of its release, the Mi 9T has allegedly been spotted on Geekbench, revealing some of the key specifications of the handset.
As per the listing, the Xiaomi Mi 9T will be equipped with 6GB of RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core chipset code-named as "Davinci." Now, we don't know which chipset it's going to be, but the codename was also used for the Redmi K20 prior to its launch. It's all the more reasons to believe that the Mi 9T is simply a rebranded version of the Redmi K20, which rocks the Snapdragon 730 chipset. Coming back to the Geekbench, the Mi 9T with the said specs managed to score a respectable 2,540 points in the single-core test and 6,911 in the multi-core. The handset is reported to boot Android 9 Pie out of the box.
As for the specifications, the Mi 9T is rumoured to sport a 6.39-inch AMOLED full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It's likely to be equipped with up to 8GB of RAM and 256 GB of native storage. For photography, the handset may sport a triple rear camera setup of 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 13-megapixel sensors and 20-megapixel pop-up selfie shooter. The phone may draw its power from a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
The Xiaomi Mi 9T price is rumoured to start from €359 (~Rs 28,000) for the base variant and could go up to €499 (~Rs 39,000) for the top-end variant. The handset will reportedly be available in Black, Blue, and Red colours.
